The Foundation receives and administers all gifts to the ministries of Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, which include Franke at Seaside, the Heritage at Lowman, Rice Estate, RoseCrest, Trinity on Laurens, Lutheran Hospice, BeWell Home Services and BeWell@Home.

Why Spring May Be the Ideal Time to Consider a Life Plan Community
Posted on March 26, 2026 - There is something about spring that makes change feel possible. Windows open. Closets get cleaned. Real estate signs appear in yards. The air feels lighter—and so do decisions that may have felt heavy before. For generations, spring has symbolized renewal and fresh beginnings. It’s a season that reminds us that growth often follows periods of waiting. For older adults exploring a move to a Life Plan Community —also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)—spring has become one of the most appealing times to make the transition.
“Because we feel that the work the Foundation does is so important, we would like to make a gift of stock in memory of my parents and to honor those who work in the Rice Estate skilled nursing area, the BeWell Home Services staff and the Lutheran Hospice group. Our hope is that our gift can help the Foundation continue providing wonderful experiences to other people like my parents were able to enjoy with their connection through the Rice Estate.
